BACKGROUND

Cities in which voters approved the sale of wine in grocery stores are required to issue certificates of compliance before grocery stores may be licensed to sell wine by the Alcoholic Beverage Commission (ABC).

Pursuant to T.C.A. § 57-3-806, Weigel's #26, owned by Weigel Stores, Inc., and located at 1500 Downtown West Blvd., Knoxville, TN 37919, has submitted an application for a certificate of compliance.

The applicant has met the requirements set forth in T.C.A. §57-3-806:

1.  Submitted completed application;

2.  Provided acceptable TBI background checks for the applicants;

3.  Received Certification of Zoning letter from MPC appropriate for property.

 

Failure to act within sixty (60) days of the submission of a completed application shall be deemed a granting of the certificate.

OPTIONS

Approve, disapprove or postpone.

RECOMMENDATION

Approve issuance of a Certificate of Compliance for a Retail Food Store Wine License.
